Our Story

How did we get here?

Hello and welcome to Our Nomadic Story. We are Don and Neva along with our travel companions Niki and Mia are living the life we imagined. Through our journey we want to support you to do the same.

5+ years ago we decided that we wanted to travel the to experience and learn about the natural wonders, history, and communities. Once we agreed on a vision, we started working on how to achieve it.

Living the life you imagine requires intentionality. It took us several years of intentional effort to be able to live life to our fullest. The years of preparation were an investment that laid the foundation to live a lifestyle that supports our imagined lifestyle.

Our story starts with renting a class C for a week to see if living in a small space would work for us. Next we acquired a 19.5 ft travel trailer in 2017 to use to learn more about the life style. In 2018 we purchased our current class A RV. We also built our home base we call #NanoRVPark in 2018. Everything came together to travel full time on December 11, 2021

The Beginning of the Story

We got our start in a 25 ft Class C RV we rented for a week around our anniversary in 2016. We intentionally booked a reservation for several days at a Florida State Park and a separate reservations at Ft Pickens Campground. This required us to setup and breakdown twice with travel between the campsites. It was a success and we decided to work towards the next step.

The next step came on 2017 with us acquiring a 19.5 ft travel trailer. We viewed this as our training trailer. We mostly took it out for extended weekends to learn all we could about RV living. A couple of things we learned with the RV was maintenance and repairs.

Things Come Together

The intentional effort paid off in 2018. We listen to the advice of Kyle and Oliva Brady of Drivin’ and Vibin’ along with Tom and Caitlin Morton of Motons on the Move to stop waiting and do it. In 2018 we purchased our class A RV and built our home based we refer to as #NanoRVPark. In October 2018 we took our first extended trip to be a part of a convergence in Wellington, TX to see the premiere of The RV Nomads movie. Through that experience we made so many friends.

2019 through 2021 we continued to travel several months a years while spending time at our home base. We purchased a Thousand Trails membership in 2020 that enabled more travel and manage costs for full hookup RV sites.
