We are a married couple working towards a full-time nomadic lifestyle.
Over the last several years we have been interested in changing our lifestyle. We were looking for a lifestyle that supported many of our interests like travel, exploring, and experiencing life in a fuller manner together. While trying to decide where we live and how we live, we discovered a nomadic style of life. Many factors have led us to not starting our Nomadic adventure. The trick is to take advantage of a reason not to start the adventure and make it a positive. For us, we currently take care of a parent. From the outside, the fact that we have moved in to take care of the parent could be viewed as a setback. We view it as a positive for the following reasons.
- We have additional time to prepare
- We have started the process to downsize
- We are learning to live in a smaller space
- We are getting experience via our RV
Chapter 1 of our story started on July 2nd, 2018 with the purchase of our Holiday Rambler Navigator XE 35E. We are now moving into a new phase of learning our new RV and skills for a nomadic life.
Other than being a married couple, who are we. We are Don and Neva. We have two adult sons. The oldest graduated college a couple of years ago and working in retail through the use of business analytics. Our youngest son is completing his final semester of college and graduated in May,2018. Don works in the IT industry supporting solution design for our customers related to infrastructure, cloud, and security. He has over 35 years of experience in Information Technology (IT). Through most of the last 10 years, he has worked remotely with high travel requirements. The experience of working remotely and travel should translate to working with our planned nomadic lifestyle. Neva was a teacher in the public school system, led homeschooling for our two sons, and currently the primary caregiver for a parent.
As we progress our nomadic story, we expect to continue to grow and evolve. We look forward to sharing our story with you.
